Love at First Sight

May 26, 2016 This has been my favorite "accomplishment" yet.  I have always wanted to be a mother and couldn't wait until the day we were ready to start a family! Even though I have always looked forward to being a mother, I never wanted to be pregnant. It just didn't sound appealing, more like "dues" you had to put in.  No alcohol, gaining weight, not sleeping on your stomach, being exhausted, and not eating certain foods just sounded like 9 months of misery.  Turns out, I absolutely loved every minute of my pregnancy! It was such a neat experience, I had an easy and wonderful pregnancy with no complications.  To be honest, I felt completely normal except when I would look in the mirror or try to put on my normal clothes. What a miracle that something so delicate and complex was formed inside of me in just 9 short months!  God is so good.  First glimpse of our little nugget and we were able to see the heartbeat!  We loved sharing our n...

The Land of Fire and Ice

Reykjavik, ICELAND 2.19.16-2.22.16 Witness The Northern Lights Mud Bath in the Blue Lagoon ba·by·moon ˈbābēˌmo͞on/ noun informal noun:  babymoon ; plural noun:  babymoons ; noun:  baby-moon ; plural noun:  baby-moons a relaxing or romantic vacation taken by parents-to-be before their baby is born. "on the eve of my third trimester, we boarded a plane for a week-long babymoon among the quiet canals of Amsterdam"  It's a fairly new idea, and while a lot of people think it's dumb, I happen to be a big fan of a "babymoon."  You don't have to go anywhere fancy, but I think it's smart to take a small getaway and spend some quality time together before your life changes forever.  Relaxing breakfast, small talk, hand holding, staying up late, sleeping in, uninterrupted showers, non-kid friendly dinners, all of which are hard to come by once children come into the equation. My husband really wanted to go somewhere warm a...

Hot Chicken & Boots

Visit Nashville, Tennessee   10.8.15-10.12.15 There's nothing better than a girls' weekend- lounging, chatting, champagne, brunch, laughing til you are in pain, going out on the town, and making unforgettable memories.  A good girls' weekend always reminds me how lucky I am to have such amazing friends in my life, and how fun being in your 20's is.  We are living the best moments of our life, and this epic weekend in Nashville was no exception. We spontaneously booked our tickets and we were ready to see what this southern city had to offer!!   The beginning of the weekend was extra special for me, as we had just found out we were expecting! There was no way I was getting through the long weekend "faking" it, so I decided to grab coffee for everyone before our flight.... We rented a place off airbnb for the weekend.  It was in historic old Midtown area, approximately 2 miles from Broadway Street.  We loved this area as we had plenty of bars, restaur...
